Refund Policy
Last updated: Draft — pending legal review
This Refund Policy explains what is and isn’t refundable across MakerSpa’s done-for-you services. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Domain Fees — Non-Refundable
Domain registration and renewal fees are non-refundable once a domain is registered. Domain charges are levied by the registrar/registry and are not reversible once the domain is registered or renewed in your name. Because you are the registrant and owner of the domain (we operate DNS and hosting on your behalf — see the Domain Ownership section of our Terms), the domain remains yours even if you stop other services with us.
2. Website Build Fee
The one-time build fee covers the design and development work to create your website. Our build-fee policy:
- Before work begins: if you cancel before we start building, the build fee is refundable, less any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (such as a registered domain).
- After work begins: once design/build work has started, the build fee is refundable only on a pro-rata basis reflecting work completed, at our reasonable discretion. Work already delivered and any non-recoverable third-party costs are not refundable.
- After launch: once your site has been delivered and gone live, the build fee is non-refundable.
3. Recurring Services
Monthly services (for example, review management and social media management) can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; fees already paid for the current billing period are generally non-refundable, and service continues through the end of that period unless otherwise agreed.
4. One-Time Add-On Services
One-time add-ons (such as digital presence setup, professional email setup, or a batch of social content) are refundable before work begins. Once work on an add-on has started or been delivered, it is refundable only on a pro-rata basis reflecting work completed, at our reasonable discretion.
5. Third-Party Charges
Charges billed directly by third parties — such as booking software subscriptions or email mailbox fees — are governed by those providers’ own refund policies, not this one.
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or cancel a service, email hello@makerspa.com from the address associated with your account. We’ll confirm what applies to your situation and process any eligible refund to your original payment method.
